I love this perspective. You're right - the neighbours never really do come out and talk about their feelings. It's clearly a tight balance between allowing yourself to have emotions about it and not coming across as the victim in the situation. I have to share this with my boyfriend :)

Didn't see anything on the site currently that suits me, and unfortunately most Toronto companies would want me in the office, rather than working remotely, rather more than I'd be interested in.

Have you thought about Kobo? I know the job would likely be based in Toronto, which is a downside, but they're growing so fast and hiring so frequently that it may be worth investigating. They're all about community management and I think they do it pretty well.

Basically, about the only thing that kept me from burning down the building was knowing that it's mostly concrete and I had no guarantee that it would burn thoroughly enough to guarantee maggot eradication...

HOLY SHIT, MELLE. I can't believe it took you this long to blog about this either. You are a brave lady - after three successive maggot eruptions, I would have taken a flame-thrower to the kitchen while crying, then moved. My hat is off to you! Also, I second the "toaster oven" suggestion. Good for gluten-free waffles :)
